Get to Know Our Ginger Ale
Ginger is a tropical perennial plant that is harvested commonly for its roots. Carrying many medicinal properties, the yellowish glow of a freshly cut ginger root has been widely used by many communities for thousands of years. Ginger Beer, a beverage most of us know and love, was the inspiration for our Ginger Ale botanical drink mix. Our recipe was thoughtfully crafted by organicfair’s co-owner Marisa, in 2012 as one of our original offerings. Both a chef and herbalist, Marisa has taken a classic flavour combination and added our own organicfair touch, to offer a product that does more than just taste good!
Our Ginger Ale is a full spectrum extract which means we use freshly cut and dried ginger as well as ginger essential oil in our recipe. All of these forms of ginger have different medicinal benefits creating an amazingly complex ginger flavour with a balanced amount of heat. Marisa has always loved Jamaican style ginger beer and wanted our Ginger Ale to include a hint of lime and aromatic spices. She created our original recipe when she was pregnant to also help soothe the uncomfortableness of nausea. Ginger is a well recognized herb to treat this and she can attest, the effectiveness of our botanical drink mix works wonders in eliminating the symptoms.
In our family kitchen, our Ginger Ale is a staple. We have designed it to be used as more than just for beverages and below are a few quick and easy recipes we’d love to share with you!
